Hi, I’m Ruby Sophia!

I’m a teen writer, poet, and disabled advocate who believes in the power of words to create connection and change. I am one of Long Beach's Youth Poet Laureate Ambassadors! This position gives me the power to advocate for the voiceless using my poetry! I am passionate about equity, racial justice, disability justice,

the rights of queer people, and so much more. I write about disability, politics, health, music, and the everyday joys and heartbreaks of being young. Sometimes my posts are raw and personal, sometimes they’re bold and fiery, sometimes they’re playful and light. All of them reflect pieces of me, and hopefully offer pieces of you, too. Besides poetry and politics, I also love reading, specifically nonfiction and poetry, as well as consuming massive amounts of music, making very niche playlists, and rearranging my room constantly. Welcome to my corner of the internet.
